April 4th to 6th, 2011
The 5th German-African Energy Forum was held in Hamburg and Hanover in cooperation with the Hanover Fair, the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce, APPA, ARA and UPDEA. The Conference brought together 430 top-level speakers and representatives of the energy sector to discuss issues of the African energy sector and the German-African energy cooperation.

Afrika-Verein organizes the 20th Africa Circle for companies based in Bavaria. The topic was “Renewable Energies – Will Africa become a new big market?”.

Afrika-Verein together with VDMA (German Engineering Federation) organizes a business mission to Tripoli, Libya in the framework of the German Process Technology Symposium for the Oil & Gas, Petrochem, Water and Cement Technology.

The 2nd German-South African Business Forum takes place in Cape Town. A panel on renewable energies as well as one on energy efficiency are part of the programme.

A business trade mission of Afrika-Verein to Cameroon includes meetings with the Ministry of Energy and Water and the Electricity Development Corporation.

The 3rd German Nigerian Business Forum takes place in Hamburg organized by the
Afrika-Verein in cooperation with the Delegation of German Industry for Nigeria and German-Nigerian Business Association. The forum includes presentations on oil & gas, power as well as renewable energies.

Together with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Munich, Afrika-Verein organizes a German-Ugandan Business Forum which included a panel on energy.

Afrika-Verein organizes the 11th German-Libyan Business Forum in Tripoli. Expert Panels on Oil & Gas constitute an important part of the conference. The German Federal Minister of Economics and Technology, Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg, will lead the German delegation.

4th German-African Energy Forum, Hamburg und Hannover in cooperation with the Hanover Fair, the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce, APPA, ARA and UPDEA.
